Cass Mid-Winter – 1-3 July
Trip report by Judy Ashton

There were 21 of us at Cass this year and fun was had by all as usual. Jane had organised everything very well but she couldn’t help the fact that someone had broken the key off in the boiler control and for Friday night we only had the fire to keep us warm and luckily heaters in the bathrooms. Sadly a nor’wester was blowing so there was hardly any ice to be found and the snow was up high (This at least was a good thing given the lack of heating).

We visited our usual haunts and ‘the jolly old man’ made his mid winter appearance to hand out all the ‘surprises’ after our customary sumptuous feast on the Saturday night.

Nice to know the hard work put in cleaning up on Sunday morning was appreciated by the group coming in after us (comment made to one of our members who phoned back about some missing clothes) – we always aim to leave it in a better condition than we found it !!!

Once again a great weekend and evidence should be on our Flickr Field Trip Group

If you haven’t been on a field trip you should – great camaraderie and great photos !!!
