Date: 27th Dec or a day between Christmas and New Year
Trip Leader: James Thompson
Attractions: Pretty Green insects, other macro opportunities and potential landscapes.
What to Bring: Camera, Macro lens, tripod, weather appropriate clothing and protection, lunch and a drink.
Meet at: 9.00am at the Lake Lyndon turn off (at the bottom of Porters Pass)
Other Info: The Manuka Chafer beetles come out for about a two week period while Manuka is flowering. Last year we found them on New Year’s day. I will do a reconnaissance trip before Christmas and will advise all if the 27 th of December will work or will suggest a different date, earlier or later (Keep an eye on your emails closer to the date).
Most cars will be ok on the Lyndon Road if it has not been wet. I still suggest we car pool in 4wd vehicles from the meeting point.
