President’s Column – September 2026

As mentioned previously, we have a summary of the survey results. The link to the survey is attached in the newsletter email. Please do take some time to read over the results. The Committee will be working through these to see what changes we can bring that you have requested. Thanks again to the members who took part in the survey.

A few weeks ago now, I did enjoy our Cass Field trip. It was a great chance to get out and take a few photos as well as have great conversation with the members who came along. The trip home over Porters Pass in the snow was exciting with a chance to finally use our chains that have been in the back of the car for over 5 years now.

Over the 12th and 13th, PSNZ ran a photo evaluation workshop for us. This was a fantastic opportunity to learn how to provide constructive feedback to a photographer about their image as well as helping to understand what a good photo could look like. Following the workshop, we will look at the possibility of setting-up some photo discussion groups or a photo print circle. Once we have some more details on this we will let you know.

Hopefully the weather will be good this coming weekend for our field trip to Lake Hawdon & Lake Marymere.
