The Canterbury Branch of Birds NZ branch is working with the Ashley Rakahuri Rivercare Group to hold an open day at the Ashley estuary.
It is on Saturday 19th October and will run from 9am to 12 noon.
We will have a couple of stalls at the estuary carpark, and then we are hoping to have scopes and binoculars to show people close up views of the amazing bird life of this special area.
The aim is for us to share our love of birds with the public, and advocate for protecting the area and limiting disturbance, especially from dog walkers and fishermen
