Trip Report Botanical Gardens Wednesday 14 May 2025 by Jan Boag

Five members joined Robyn for a wander around the Botanical Gardens. The weather was not that great but it didn’t deter us from enjoying the Autumnal colours.
We spent a while in the Maple (Acer palmatum) Grove enjoying the beautiful trees with their vibrant hues of red, orange and yellow. We then made our way alongside the river to the Curators edible garden where we saw plants such a herbs, salad veges and an active bee hive.
Our last stop was to view the Ginko Trees which were outside of the Gardens. A sea of yellow towering over the statue of Fitzgerald was an impressive sight.
It was time to meet back at the Ilex Café for hot drink, so we walked back alongside the herbaceous border admiring the few colourful flowers which stood out amongst the dying foliage.
Thank you to Robyn for organising the Trip.
