Botanical Gardens – 26th July 2017
Trip Guide – Maureen
Field Trip Report – Peter
On a chilly July morning we welcomed new NPS member Marian to her first field trip with the club before traipsing off to the plant nursery greenhouse next to the cafe.
Maureen had arranged for us to spend time in this greenhouse which is normally out of bounds to the public and following a brief intro by a green fingered gent the nine of us were free to roam this warm, humid plant preschool.
Coats, hats and gloves were stripped off with gay abandon and on went the macro lenses. There were plenty of willing subjects here as this nursery contains a gazillion varieties of plants being reared prior to being transplanted around the Gardens. I’m sure there will be plenty of wonderful images for ‘show and tell’ at next club night.
Time flew by and we then made the shortest walk ever to the cafe to wind down with a coffee.
Thank you Maureen for another great outing.
