Spring in the Botanic Gardens
A small group explored the rock gardens with spring bulbs in flower, under overcast skies – perfect for flower photography. We enjoyed the fritillarias, erythronium (or as I know them dog tooth violets) and the lovely pulsatilla with it’s lovely hairy mountain flowers. We slowly meandered over the river to the bluebells, trilliums and iris japonica under the trees. Back across the river again to the Curators House to the tulips and more bluebells, the azaleas were only crumpled buds.
The group gathered together at the Ilex Cafe where almond croissants out favoured date scones as snack of choice.
Thanks Maureen for organising a lovely morning.
