Ignoring the dark clouds , the Fearless Five set off along the river bank in search of water birds and their young. Unfortunately the nesting herons were well out of sight and we had to be content with numerous families of black swans.
Several large pine logs were investigated and ant nests disturbed, resulting in the hilarious sight of those with long lenses taking photos of ants from several metres away. By the time we reached the estuary it was very warm. A young heron feeding by the jetty was a welcome sight.
On the way to Dune cafe, several glorious protea bushes beside the footpath gave us all our last few images.
