Eleven of us turned out for this event meticulously planned by Kath, who sent each of us a carefully drawn map of the recommended route to the Rock Garden, where alpine plants were at peak flowering. Not unusually for NPSNZ members, only one person seemed to have followed this advice. Everyone else was soon captivated by alternative attractions. However (also characteristically), no one missed coffee outdoors at the Ilex Café, where the sun came out to greet us. Many thanks to Kath for organizing.
