NPS sure has interesting trips and our morning visit to a lifestyle block at Waikuku was no exception. Eight members had an enjoyable morning although the strong light was a challenge to good image taking but still a lovely morning in the sun.
Our host Lynne has a range of animals that kept us enthralled – donkeys, these are so adorable and gentle, as curious of us with our cameras as we are of them. Getting them to stand back for us to frame a photo or two was not altogether successful 100% of the time but that’s a nice problem to have. Miniature horses and a Shetland pony, full sized horses, a cow and at the conclusion of our visit mixing with the owners small breed dogs and a litter of 6 week old pups, all added to the interest and fun.
Photographing animals may have its challenges at times, but it’s certainly enjoyable. Lynne was a good host and passed on interesting facts about the different animals. Morning concluded with coffee etc at “The Good Home” café / bar, Pegasus.
Many thanks to Judy for arranging and leading the visit. A very enjoyable morning.
