5th August

Nine people popped along for the Estuary walk on a brisk winter afternoon. The tide was not in as far as I’d thought so there were few birds but those with big lenses must have seen a few.
The track has had to be re-routed as the groynes have been unsuccessful in holding back the water. As the tide was not high we were able to walk out onto the mud. I had no idea there were so many cockles in this area. The stumps with their roots exposed look like giant spiders. There were various gorgeous cloud formations but sadly the hoped-for colours didn’t eventuate. Nevertheless, I hope all enjoyed the ramble and meeting members who we don’t often see.
