John C. Smith will be available to help people on:
Date and time: Saturday 21st November 2020 – 9:30am to 12.00pm
Venue: Rock and Mineral Club Rooms, 110 Waltham Road, Waltham, Christchurch
Bring: your proposed set of images on a memory stick or laptop or printed.
For anyone thinking about putting in an honours set in January 2021, there is an opportunity to get some feedback on your proposed set from John C Smith. There is an art to putting together a good honours set. An honours set requires both good images and a set that flows well and variety.
Please see below for what is required for the 3 different levels. Many people find getting a good flow is one of the more challenging aspects of submitting honours, this workshop will help you do that.
If you already have an Associate or Licentiate, you can submit a set at the same level but in a different category, in this case you will receive a certificate but not additional letters. Please talk to Diana Stewart if you are considering this.
A selection of printed 6×4 images is highly recommended. You can spread them out on a table and John can work with you on suggestions for the layout and discuss which images would work well together.
This year we are able to show your images on the big screen for you. This is how the Honours Board selection team will view your digital submissions. Please size your images 1620 pixels (width) and 1080 pixels (height).
To get the most out of this workshop you need a proposed set or at least some of the images you are thinking about submitting.
