Manuka Chafer Beetle Hunt – Saturday 4 January

Just after new year we held our field trip to the Lake Lyndon road to photograph the Manuka Chafer beetle.  This has become a bit of an annual tradition now, that a group of us go looking for the beautiful Manuka Chafer Beetles and they didn’t disappoint.  The beetles were in full fettle and gave us all a wonderful show.  Along with the beetle there were other small things to photograph including crickets, wasps, flies and weavels.

Ten members went on the trip.  The weather held off for us and we had a good day. Thank you, James, for organising this again and we look forward to next year.
