Trip report: James Thompson

On the 16th of December about seven members headed up to the Mt Cheeseman ski field to photograph alpine plants and anything else of interest. We arrived at the ski field at bit before 9.00 am where it was overcast and blowing a chilly wind. We all headed off in different directions taking different images but during the morning we all seemed to congregate around a few Pen-wiper plants that were in flower. This was the first time that I had seen them and they are such a neat little plant.

We spent about two and a half hours on the ski field before meeting back at the ski field lodge to have some lunch. After lunch we stopped at a couple more spots on the way down the ski field road before heading back home.

A big thanks to Nadine for organising the field trip.
