Eight members met on a gorgeous spring like day at the Pinetum in the Botanical Gardens.
The Pinetum is a collection of matured conifers, including many species and cultivars of cedar, cypress, fir, larch, juniper and spruce. If you want to find it, it is situated close to the carpark and tennis courts and runs right through to Riccarton Avenue. Dean, one of the senior gardeners, told us about propagating pines which was very informative and interesting.
Spring has certainly sprung at the Gardens – the Daffodils, Magnolias, even some Bluebells and Snowdrops made for a beautiful time to a take a walk. The first of the Ducklings were enjoying life – it felt good to be alive and outside.
