A smaller than usual group meant that we barely saw one another with the huge area of exotic plants to drool over. It was super to meet the two males, one a new member on his first field trip and the other, a long-standing member who hopefully will return more regularly.
Ninety minutes flew by and I know, I for one, scrambled at the last minute to make sure I hadn’t missed a hidden gem. Looking at others’ images later revealed we all focussed on different plants. Even though I love plants and belong to the Friends of the Botanic Gardens, it’s places like this that make me realise how little I actually know.
Thank you to Darren Tillett and the staff who allowed us access and space to enjoy their treasures.
