Waimairi Beach with Gina – 17 November
By Carolyn Collins
Seven seasoned souls set off in the searing sun in search of seaside scenes
The sea was unbelievably calm despite the strong wind. There were possibly as many dogs as people enjoying the glorious morning, giving chances for some great action images, especially at the pool where the storm water pipe ends.
Up on the dunes are a few seats, one with a very appropriate verse instead of the usual memorial plaque. We followed the dune-top track back down onto the flat, through a small park and lo and behold, there was the Beach Cafe waiting for our orders.
Many thanks to Gina for organizing this walk at a lesser-known beach location. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone else’s images
