Field Trip: ChCh Botanic Gardens 15th June 2022
Trip Leader: Andrea Thompson
Trip Report: Peter Hockley
Billed as a celebration of World Nature Photography Day a few of us gathered at the Botanic Gardens and, guided by Andrea, we first visited the Founding Tree of the Gardens. Planted in 1863 it is now a rather large, gnarly old oak tree. We then wandered the rock gardens and the fantastic new NZ native area before adjourning for coffee and muffins at the Ilex. A great way to spend some time out on a beautiful, calm, sunny winter’s day and nice to see a couple of new members joining in. Thank you Andrea for organising.
