Kowai and Lords Bush, Saturday 24th April

Report by Maureen Pierre

A group of 10 of us met at the Yellow Shack in Springfield for coffee and food on Saturday 24 April. After a quick catch up we headed off to Kowai Bush.  We enjoyed a lovely walk through the bush – apart from our trip leader Nadine getting attacked by a bee! The bush was very dry, so there wasn’t the usual fungi growth, but coming down the track we found some nice little ones in a small area.

After lunch we carried on to Lords Bush – that was quite an “off road” walk as pigs had been digging and the track was overgrown, but it’s always interesting. It was dry there too, so the fungi weren’t in evidence, but we found other interesting things to photograph.

Thank you to Nadine for organising – definitely a place to go back to.
