Trip Leader: Carolyn Collins

Wednesday 28th January offered a long-awaited reprieve from the recent stretch of poor weather, presenting a perfect opportunity for photography. I was delighted to join a small, enthusiastic group of seven fellow photographers at the picturesque Mona Vale, where the clear skies and soft light set the stage for a highly productive morning.

The renowned rose gardens were in full bloom, complemented beautifully by the sprawling perennial borders that offered a rich tapestry of textures and colours. I found myself particularly drawn to the echinacea, with striking backlighting. I also took the chance to experiment with my Lensbaby, leaning into a more abstract style. It was a wonderful, relaxed morning of creative exploration, topped off by a convivial coffee and chat with the group afterward. Thank you Caro for organising this trip.
