Lower Avon River and Estuary walk – 22 August 2018
Trip Leader: Carolyn C
Trip Report: Diana A
Carolyn met a group of 16 members at the Pages Road, lower Avon River bridge. It was a lovely sunny day and we walked along the river admiring a White faced Heron, Pukeko, Canada Geese and gulls with low tide reflections.
Carolyn left us at Bridge St and the rest of us continued along the raised estuary pathway to the South Brighton Holiday Park where we rested for a while. On the way we saw kingfishers sitting posing and flying along in front of us. Then onto the end of Estuary Road where we caught the Brighton bus back to the cars.
It was a very enjoyable morning and many thanks to Carolyn for organising the outing.
